Mission

To demonstrate Christian compassion to poverty-bound Haitian children and their families, providing opportunities for these children to become leaders in their homes, churches, and communities.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

– James 1:27

Nurture

Christian Orphanages

Since 1999, HFHC has cared for orphaned children. Responding the incredible need for orphan care after the earthquake in 2010, the Cazeau Orphanage expanded its capacity to 72 children (from 48) by adding an additional bunk bed to each dorm room. In 2012, the Thomazeau Christian Orphanage was opened at our 21-acre Hope Center in Thomazeau, Haiti. Today, 12 children call this home.

Christmas Joy Boxes

Joy Boxes

Each year, churches, organizations, and individuals, lovingly pack boxes with gifts to send to children living in desperate situations in Haiti. When a child opens a box, they’re opening more than a present picked out just for them, they are being reminded that there are others who care and are praying for them.

Thanks to an all-time high of 43 participating organizations across the U.S., over 3,800 children in Haiti will receive a joy box in 2023!

Educate

Child Sponsorships

Hope for Haiti’s Children serves to unite a child in need with a sponsor who provides that child with the funds necessary to receive a quality Christian education. Sponsors are providing $36/month to provide tuition, school supplies, a school uniform, health care, and special gifts to the child they sponsor. Because of their generosity, 2,401 children are receiving an education in 2023.

School Lunch Programs

The School Lunch Program has expanded to include all of our supported schools! HFHC has been grateful to receive thousands of pounds of highly fortified meals from organizations who are focused on hunger relief and from compassionate donors who contribute to the Food Fund. In 2023, HFHC is thrilled to have served nutritious meals to over 3,000 children.

Train

Christian Youth Camp

The Haitian teens in our sponsorship program are invited each year to attend a week of Christian Leadership Youth Camp/Camp Hope. These summer camps include a time for Bible devotionals, discussion groups, crafts, and recreational activities. In 2018, we expanded this program to hold three weeks of camp in order to serve over 200 of our wonderful Haiti teens.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God. We believe in one triune God who created the entire universe. We believe that all people are created in the image of God, but all have sinned and cannot enter eternal glory without a Savior. We believe that God the Son came to earth by being born of a virgin and named Jesus. We believe Jesus Christ was fully human and fully divine — the one-and-only Son of God. He lived among men, was crucified for our redemption, and rose the third day for our justification. We believe that He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will know no end. We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth and consists of all those who have accepted His grace and have been born of water and the Spirit. We believe the church is a divine institution to which God has committed the message of reconciliation for all nations. We believe that we are saved by grace through faith. That salvation is appropriated through faith and confession in Jesus Christ, repentance from sin, and baptism into Christ for the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. We believe that God’s plan for marriage and families, including that sexual intimacy only occur in a marriage relationship between a man and a woman, is taught in the Bible. We believe that it is our duty to reverence all human life and have a holistic concern for the needs of all people.
